uZEC is backed 1:1 with underlying ZEC reserves and can be minted and redeemed anytime. 

uZEC is minted by providing native ZEC to the Universal protocol and uZEC can be redeemed for underlying native ZEC by burning uZEC and sending to a zcash address.
